Privacy Policy
The short version: DupVid doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number. We create an anonymous account for you, use the videos, photos and text you add only to make your videos, share them only with the service providers that help us do that (including AI providers), never sell your data or use it for tracking, and let you delete everything from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
DupVid ("DupVid", "we", "us") is an app for iPhone and iPad that remakes short videos with a character you choose. DupVid is operated by Leadonly OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, Männimäe/1, Pudisoo küla, Kuusalu vald, 74626 Harju maakond, Estonia. Leadonly OÜ is the controller of your personal data.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run DupVid:

Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your payment card details. DupVid does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not collect your location, contacts or microphone.
If you use the camera to take a character photo, only the photo you take is used. DupVid never records video or audio.
3. How we use it
- To create, store and deliver your videos and characters.
- To manage your credits and subscription.
- To keep DupVid safe: preventing abuse, moderating content, and handling reports.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data, share it for targeted advertising, or use your videos, photos, characters or results to train AI models. We only work with AI providers whose terms don't allow them to train on it either.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (AI processing of the content you upload, which you give in the app before your first upload and can withdraw by deleting your data), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the service), and legal obligations.
4. AI processing
Creating videos and characters requires artificial intelligence. Before your first upload, DupVid explains this and asks for your permission. When you create something, the content you added (reference video, character photos, captions, spoken text and prompts) is sent to our servers and to the AI providers that process it for us:
- AI video generation providers, to create and edit your videos;
- AI image generation providers, to create characters;
- AI analysis providers, to describe your reference video and read its captions and speech.
We'll name the providers we use on this page. Until then, you can ask us for the current list at any time. These providers process your content only to generate your result, keep it only as long as needed to do so, and may not use it to train their models. AI output can be imperfect or unexpected. Please review your videos before you publish them.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers that help us run DupVid: cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services, in its Ireland EU region), the AI providers listed above, and error monitoring. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Apple, which processes your App Store purchases under its own privacy policy.
- Authorities, if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of people, including people shown in content.
- A buyer or successor, if DupVid is involved in a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, videos and characters are kept until you delete them or delete your data.
- Content sent to AI providers is kept by them only as long as needed to process it.
- Purchase records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
- Reports and consent records are kept for up to 12 months after your account is deleted, to handle takedown requests, disputes and misuse.
- Deleted data is removed from our backups within 30 days.
7. Deleting your data
You can delete everything at any time in the app: Menu → Delete my data. This permanently deletes your account, characters, videos, remaining credits, onboarding answers and settings, on our servers and on your device. It can't be undone.
Deleting your data does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
Because DupVid accounts are anonymous, deleting the app alone may not delete your data on our servers. Use Delete my data first, or contact us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We don't sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Most of these you can do yourself in the app. For anything else, contact us at the address below. Because we don't know your name or email, we may ask you for your in-app account ID to find your data. You can also complain to a data protection authority: our lead authority is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee), and you can always contact the authority where you live.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and secure storage to protect your data. Your session is stored in your device's Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of breaches where the law requires.
10. Children
DupVid is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you're under the age of digital consent in your country (between 13 and 16 in the EU), you may only use DupVid with your parent's or guardian's permission. Content showing minors may not be uploaded. If you believe a child has used DupVid, contact us and we'll delete the data.
11. International transfers
Your data is stored in the European Union (Amazon Web Services, Ireland). Some service providers, including AI providers, may process it outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. We protect those transfers with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as DupVid changes. We'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
